Being loyal followers of Jesus requires our being loyal to what he was loyal to – God’s reign. And that means believing persistently that God is indeed sovereign, and believing that means ordering our life so that it accords with God’s will even before God’s reign is acknowledged everywhere. Being a disciple takes imagination. It also gives hope.
